At the moment the weather is wonderful. It's sunny and in the sixty's. It's a nice relief from the heat we've been having. It does feel as though Autumn is just around the corner. This year I'm going to enjoy it. Most years I dread Fall as Winter is coming at a high speed, but it just dawned on me the other day. I can't stop it, so why fight it? Right??? :)
Lets see since I've last posted we have had 3 new babies. 2 bulls and a heifer. The heifer was from a cow who hadn't calved in two years! I know there are those of you out there who will think that's just awful, but she was a good cow, the last of her line!!! So anyway now we have 2 :)
Our vacuum pump quit last week, right when we had started milking that evening. I was in a near panic, but stopped from worrying and went about the normal routine to try and diagnose the patient. No the breaker wasn't blown, I tried the reset button (after waiting for it to cool down), THEN I called for help. Well he asked if the breaker was thrown... No did you try the reset button... Yes. Well wait 10 minutes and try again. If it didn't work call him back and they would send someone out. I waited tried it and it didn't work (wonder of wonders ... note:this was said in a sarcastic tone) OK so I called back and they would send some one out , but it was going to be a while. In the mean time I had smashed my finger but good trying to find out if the it was frozen up. It wasn't!!!! anyway they finally got here at 10 pm that night. It worked for him, isn't that always how it goes? Anyway we were talking and come to find out it really wasn't working but there was a loose wire on the wash system!!!! HOT DOG BABY!!!! We just saved $6000.00 for a new vacuum pump!!!
Other news, the concrete guys never showed up on Thursday, or Saturday like they said they were. ARGH... I have decided I don't like construction! Why can't we dig the hole, pour the concrete, get the house, finish the basement, and move in?????
Must dash, but I will finish my week later on...
