Words can't describe...

This is the view through the to be french doors... Isn't it purdy?!?

Notice how far below the door frame the beam hangs...

Yes another one..

You can see the beam hanging down through the window in moms bedroom.

All I can say is... nothing. We are all in a state of shock at the beam. OK I need to go back and give a little background. Everyone knows we are doing a basement and modular on top. WELL you need a support for the house in the basement. NO problem right... WRONG... It's an 18" beam that hangs down. It's horrible!!! But of course it wasn't supposed to be that way... it was supposed to be an 11" beam. Anyway now it's all a mess and we are NOT and I repeat NOT (no way on Gods green earth!) setting that house until we can come up with a better solution.

This was supposed to be a "DREAM" house. HA! now it's just turning into a nightmare. You spend all this money and time... did I mention MONEY????? Everyone that sees the beam running through the basement is horrified. When I walk under it there is a 3" clearance from the top of my head to hitting the beam. Add another half inch for sheet rock that's 2.5" if we want carpeting that will take up the rest of the clearance. If someone would have just told us in the beginning that we needed higher walls for this huge beam we would have been happy to do so. Now what?!? I just want to cry... how much can you keep taking and taking. Just be happy with it is what everyone says... EVEN me. Mom did cry and is mad, my grandmother isn't happy, Krissie isn't happy, my uncle swore *smile*, and aunt Linda is ticked. Friends as I've said be for are just horrified.

This is the last straw... I've had to suck it up my whole life. NO MORE... I've had to take the feed bin down and lose milk because of the electric company and De Laval. They aren't ever in the wrong either.

Well it's past time for chores and I need to find a happy place. God is in control. Question of the day though... How do you keep your peace and make a stand for what's right at the same time?

Hope you all enjoy the above pictures of the beam.
