God is good...

Last night when we went out for evening chores as always I head to the milk barn first. Get the "arm" over to the bulk tank, pull feed, open the gate too the holding pen, get the milkers down and ready to go, pull feed, and so on. Well last night was a little bit different.

You see we have been having some trouble with some over egger cows wanting feed. Nothing to out of the norm, except last night. One of our best cows (anyone who dairies KNOWS it always seems like it's THAT cow) had gotten in and hurt her leg severely. Thankfully she can still walk and her right hoof is still attached to her leg. The Lord must have sent his angels to help her as it could have been a VERY bad situation. We got her out to the holding pen, called the vets office, and I made an 18 mile dash at 6:30pm to get supplies to keep her healthy and cover the leg to keep germs out. It all worked out as I did some quick shopping at the Super Wally World, so at least I don't have to go out in the snow storm they say is coming today.

I was just so thankful she wasn't hurt any worse than she was. Now I'm praying she stays that way. So if anyone is inclined please send up a prayer for "Royal".Other news...

OH I have finally decided who I'm voting for in the Primaries next Tuesday! After a good 20 minutes looking at the 3 major candidates for the party I'm voting for, I picked the ONLY one who even thought agriculture was an issue.

Well I best get going...chores await! And the snow is moving in... Today I think I will work on my cooking blog I started. Anyone have any recipes they want to share? Leave a comment or email me!
