All year... yes all of this whole year, I've been trying to read more. Books, rather than what's on the computer, magazines... what have you. I've tried new authors, new types over what I normally go for. But for some reason I keep coming back to my old tried and true "friends". When I read I want it to be... I don't know... more than fluff. There needs to be a message behind it all. I suppose that's why I like old authors. Of course there are new ones I like... Randy Alcorn, Frank Peretti... Anyway that's just me rambling on again.
So I've started reading The Shepherd of the Hills ..... again. Harold Bell Wright was a local author of the Ozarks... the way he can put things into words, it makes it come alive. Of course The Shepherd of the Hills was based on real live people it makes it all the more real... sort off. It's more my cup of tea.
I've also been reading Jane Austen's books. Of which Sense and Sensibility the book isn't at all like the movie. Why can't they stay true to the story when they turn books into movies? I would like to know.
One book I would NOT and I mean NOT recamend you read, buy, check out... would be The Pawn by Steven James. It looked like a really good read. Along the the lines off Deadline. But it was far from that. I had bought this book at a christan book store, why it was there I'll never know. Since most books even fiction at least make mention of God and praying in time of need. And this one did not, at least that I could find. Anyway I personally didn't care for it at all and didn't even finish the book.
