I had forgotten that we had a new baby!!! This is cause for celebration... Rhapsody for the past 2 years has had bulls that did not live past being born. More than likely they just couldn't handle birth. It's sad but true... We had a cow once "Yolanda", this frustrating bovine could carry a bull calf full term with no problems, yet when she was having a heifer she would calve 6 to 8 weeks early. We never did get a live heifer out of that cow. ANYWAY back to Rhapsody! I had been watching her like a hawk. She had been acting funny the other day so I knew something was up. Well I couldn't for the life of me find a calf and she was being more stupid than normal SO I just let her go and prayed for the best. WELL she had a LIVE baby!!! I was so shocked. However I wanted to get it in the barn before Ike hit last night and today will all the rain and cooler temps. And to my surprise it wasn't only alive... but it was a HEIFER!!!!! A wee itter girlie bovine. The down side to this is she has her mother attitude already. Heaven help us all... I am just so thankful though...
Now to come up with an R name...
