Dec. 1...

Howdy... Well it's Dec... for me it's hard to believe. This year has gone by so quickly and yet so extremely slow. For todays post I'm going to hit the highlights of yesterday. I'm going to get off the soap box and talk shop! :)

Yesterday started out cold and with the beginnings of snow. The weather people all said we'll only get a dusting and it won't stick... the ground is still to warm. My thoughts were... I'm from the Show Me State ... I do believe I'll have to be shown. I go out and quickly do my morning chores so I can run (OK drive in a nice warm vehicle) to Springfield to do some coupon shopping. Normally I wouldn't do this on a Sunday but when you can get double coupons up to $2.oo at Kmart I'm gone!

Went in town to get gas and a drive-thru breakfast and was on my merry way. I'm going to wrap this trip into this... crazy! I have never before seen seen women so nuts! People it's just a coupon and some 4 in 1 cleaner... is it really worth the hateful looks? Blocking the isles? I've learned this though... I'll be better prepared next time. Anyway I spent $120 yesterday at CVS and Kmart and came out with over $300.00 worth of stuff. I could have done better but we are set on shampoo, body wash, cleaners, fabric softener, and ooddles of other stuff... not bad if I do say so my stuff.

After that I came home rested and then started in on chores. At some point the snow started to really fall. No worries... to warm just a dusting... yeah right! After getting my chores started I thought I better feed the dry cows and heifers some hay. After all it was going to be cold and windy. And they would be wet and cold. So I do my good deed in the dark with the snow/ice mix pelting my eye. I manage to get through the gate just fine... I set down the first bale and what does that wonderful bull of ours do??? I know you don't know... silly me... he ROLLS the bale 50'! all that's left is the center core of the bale! I was so mad and getting cold. I put the bale ring on the core... drop the back bale and as quickly as I can get the ring on it before anyone can roll that bale.

Then I start to pick up the hay that had been unrolled and put it in the bale ring with the core. A ten minute job took 30 minutes. Thankfully I just had to feed one bottle baby and then I could go in after getting the nights wood in to keep us warm. I was so happy to get in out of the snowy/sleet mix.

Which by the way is more than a dusting... it's a 1/2''. Yeah I know it's not much for some of y'all but there is a difference in dusting that won't stick and 1/2" with more to come on Wednesday.
