Labor and Delivery

Yet again another momma cow is calving. The questions abound with will it go OK? I wonder if it will be a bull or heifer? any white on him or her by chance (With Monarch calving there is a good chance)? It's just a waiting game right now.

In other farm news... the penned up close up let themselves OUT with the rest of the dry herd and heifers. ARGH! I had wanted to dry off some of the milkers today however that's not going to happen since those naughty mothers to be broke out. Grrr

Nothing much happening here. I want to find The Barefoot Contessa's Chocolate Cake recipe to go with the brisket I'm going to be smoking tonight for dinner tomorrow. I've decided one can't start the grilling season early enough. So tomorrow's dinner will be smoked brisket, potato salad, some kind of other vegetable or salad, and chocolate cake for dessert.

And before I leave... isn't my "cover girl" Cotton Blossom just the cutest baby you've ever SEEN!
She's got a loud mouth and attitude behind that sweet face.

I LOVE Cotton Blossom! She's beautiful, and she looks like she has something very important to say.

Have a blessed weekend!
