Maxima calved tonight. After all the rain. Which had made mud and I'm not talking about normal mud. This stuff will take you in and hold on for dear life. In fact I got almost stuck carrying a brand new, never been used, still wet, baby heifer. Who is from the tips of her front feet to the tips of her back feet longer than I am tall. She was slipping out of my hold as I was trying to get unstuck and landed in soft mud.
I don't think I went 8 hours with out being totally wet or muddy from head to toe. Oh the wonderful joys of farming.
Now I'm ready for a nice and relaxing evening of rest and warmth. And thoughts of what to name the newest member of the MO-MOOS Jerseys.
