Rain...

Well we have rain... It's pouring down as I sit here this morning hoping that it will soon let up. Some how I don't think they will be here to do the walls of the basement this week.

We did however get the footings!!!! Yee Haw!!! We are moving forward ever so slowly, BUT at least it's forward with this and not nothing at all. Of which we are all thankful about.

In bovine world... Rhapsody calved with a huge bull... grrr I was really hoping for a heifer this time. And one of the milk cows calved (Crimson)... what a shocker that was! She wasn't "due" until January or February. Or so I thought. It was a full term heifer! Thankfully mother and baby are both doing well and I'm still in shock.

Labor day was uneventful. We took the "off " and just rested. After all we work year round with no days off, no vacations, and since cows don't understand holidays we get to work those days also. But just the bear minimums. I'm not complaining here... just stating the facts. :) On the up side, there is no one telling me what to do, I don't have to worry about being fired or laid-off, and I can have a fit if I want to. lol

Oh today is my grandmothers Birthday!!! It's going to be a soggy one. You know I don't ever remember it being rainy on her birthdays, it's always hot and sticky weather wise. Humph... what a switch...
