Happy Easter!

MATTHEW 28:5-7
5 The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples: he has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him. Now I have told you.
John McArthur writes, “ Yet the one image of Christ that surpasses all the rest is Jesus Christ on the cross. To know Christ crucified is to know Him as the author and finisher of your faith-the truest picture of His Person and work.”
Just as the angel told the women I might remind myself. Do not be afraid. Christ is not dead nor is he here. He has risen. Tell others about this event. Jesus’ resurrection is the key to the Christian faith. Christians celebrate this glorious event on the Sunday called Easter although Easter is not a word from scripture. As the angel commanded and as Christ himself commanded I am honored to tell the world-my small world-of my faith. Further in Matthew 28:20, Christ says, “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
