4 New Heifers... and yes more rain...

Yes 4 new heifer calves, that makes 6 in a row... We'll see if we can match or go over our record of 8. :) The new ones are as follows: Exodus (Euphemia is her mother), Snapple (Snippy), Jingerbread - JB for short (Jinger), and Havallah (for the life of me I can't remember her name). Now if the mothers would just settle down and be sensible life would be OK. Snippy had decided that she was NOT going to be a milk cow and got back in with the dry moos 4 times! Jinger wasn't going on the holding pen at all, not uncommon for a first calf heifer, but she took it to the ultimate. She was going down the road and as far from the milk barn as possible! Well that didn't happen she did get on the holding pen and was milked. MY nerves were shot after the whole ordeal. She has been good ever since. Havallah's mummy has been like Snippy and back in the old pasture 3 times. Let me tell you it's getting OLD having to get the same cows out everyday.

And yes we've gotten more rain. I should be used to it by now, as it always rains this time of the year, but I haven't! lol

Mom and I finished her tomato bed yesterday... well all but the planting of it. And we even got some of it planted!!! Yeah! It's pretty cool and I already have plans for it this fall :-D ... If all goes well I'll have a mini high tunnel for lettuce and all that good stuff. I'm even going to try and find some dwarf sugar snap peas and try to grow them! Well we'll see how it all goes. If I can't live farther south to extend the season I'll just have to find a way to "help" the season last here! :)

I haven't gotten to sew or work on any quilting project lately. To busy with calves and cows. ARGH!!!
