I should be in bed by now but I'm to wired to sleep so I'm trying to unwind from a long LONG day. Thursdays are always hectic, today seemed more so though. I did most of the morning milking by myself, then I had some help to feed 32 babies, only 30 decided they wanted to eat so, so be it! By then it was noon, and some how it was 5 before we knew it and we got to start the whole process all over again. This time though I won over the 2 darlings who wouldn't eat this AM.
We are up to milking 75 ... well if I could find Janell and keep Sparky with the milking herd we would be. I'm so tired these days... I dream of a vacation... no calves, no cows, goats, raccoons who seem to think they need our sweet corn more than us, no one asking me questions, just a nice quiet hotel room with room service and lots of quilt shops around. Dream on sister, dream on...
Things I'm thankful for today:
Our Lord Jesus Christ... of which I couldn't make it through the days without him
Cool weather... it's been such a blessing
The ever growing milk weights...
Calves that don't have scours...
And clean sheets...
