What a day...

It's been some day around here... the weather was almost perfect other than the wind. Boy oh boy was it windy out today. Mid 70's, hardly a cloud in the sky. Just a wonderful day.

We had two cows calve today, one bull and one heifer. One is better than none. Both seem to be doing well so far. The one cow has milk fever though and the old dear is down on the holding pen. She can get up but when she does, well she can't really walk and we don't want her hurting herself. So before heading to bed I'll try and give her some water and oral calcium, since we just gave her a bottle in her "pocket".

In other birthing worlds Velma FINALLY had her kids!!! They are not what we OK yours truly was expecting or hoping for. I was hoping for black and white babies with no ears. AS their daddy was supposed to be a La Mancha. Well we have brownish and white babies with long Nubian ears. LOL They are SO cute and only hours old. I will be taking their pictures as soon as possible. OH yes... We have 3 all total... err she has 3 ... 2 does (girls) and 1 buck (boy). Hopefully I have that right. This is the first time we've ever had "kids". And it's a learning experience.
