WOW what a past few days...

Thursday morning ended up being one of those mornings. I lost a heifer calf during the night, and the other 2 were VERY weak and in need of fluids. More than could be given with a bottle. I called the local vets office to see if someone was there to start an IV. To this I got "WHY do they need THAT!?" Very simply because they have scours and are dehydrated... Well the vet was gone for the morning and wouldn't be there until that afternoon, they couldn't wait until then. SO I called my favorite vet clinic and was told get here quick since everyone was leaving on calls. In a matter of 25 minutes I managed to clean out the back of the Tahoe, drop a set from the Yukon on my foot, load 2 calves and drive 25 miles to the vets office. I FLEW!!!! thankfully there were NO police officers or HWY Patrols :) After I dropped them off and chatted with they guy who was starting the IV's for a bit I stopped and got cat food and stuff at Dollar General.

Made it home finally and set about my day. It was a long day and night. I was worried about the "babies" if they would make it the night. I waited as long as I could on Friday morning to call at 7:45 AM :) They were both doing well but one need to stay the morning, SO I picked them both up yesterday afternoon. And were they glad to see me... and I was so glad to see them. Yesterday was also run errands in my world day. I think I was gone off and on all day. I slept last night... Thankfully.

More errands today since it a holiday weekend I needed supplies since the farm stores are going to be closed on Monday.

Boy I need a nap... reliving all this has made me tired! :)
