Welcome to the family! After a week long search, try outs, pondering and coming up empty on the naming of the newest member of the family. We have finally settled on Aunt Whinny Wheat's... :) And yes one of these days I will get her picture taken and posted.
Friday evening sometime Little Rachel (one of our old beef cows from another time) calved... And yet again Eppy tried to Nanny Nap him. Last year she did this and I ended up raising Gober Pea. WELL NOT this year. I nixed that in the bud even though the baby yet again wanted a dried up ole cow (and I do me DRY no baby moo juice in that thar udder for many many moons). SO I penned up Mommy and son. Much to Eppy's constant mooing at the TOP of her lungs, she was in a tizzy. And so was the baby. He is now hoarse from calling to his non-mommy and Eppy is also and still trying to get him to come through the fence. Thankfully last night after being kept from both mom and step-mom baby was hungry and is bonding well with his mudder. AWWWWWWWWW It was a sweet moment. And after the day I had yesterday I needed that. Although it wasn't an awww moment last night. I was in a bad Bad BAD mood.
Today has been a beautiful day. I started a couple of fires and we cooked out. We will hopefully get to do this again before the weather turns bad. I know I know... but we must face these things head on. The sooner winter is over and done with the better! However I am looking forward to having no flies or ants in the house for a while.
